Biography:
Ivana Budić was born on September 18, 1971 in Nis, where she still lives and works.
She entered the Faculty of Medicine in Niš in the 1990/91 school year. She graduated first in her generation on June 27, 1996. with an average grade of 9.76 and a graduation thesis grade of 10. She enrolled in postgraduate studies in General Surgery in the academic year 1996/97. She became a Master of Medical Sciences in 2000 by defending his Master’s thesis “Respiratory complications during the performance of general anesthesia in children”.
She passed the specialist exam in Anesthesiology with resuscitation in 2002 with an excellent grade. She obtained the professional title of primarius in 2009. She became a doctor of medical sciences in 2010 by defending her doctoral thesis “The influence of different anesthetic techniques on ischemia-reperfusion injuries during extremity surgery in children”.
She is Head of the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care of the Clinic for Children’s Surgery and Orthopedics since 2020. Associate Professor at the Department of Surgery and Anesthesiology since 2019.
In the field of pediatric anesthesia, she trained professionally at Soroka Medical Center – Ben Gurion University, Israel, Asklepios Clinic St. Augustine – University of Bonn, general hospitals in Salzburg and Klagenfurt, as well as New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical College. She completed her specialization in pediatric anesthesiology in 2022 at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade with a thesis entitled “The influence of gene polymorphism UGT1A9, CYP2B6 and CYP2C9 on the occurrence of oxidative stress during total intravenous propofol anesthesia in children”.
She is a member of the European Association of Anesthesiologists (ESA), the European Association of Pediatric Anesthesiologists (ESPA), the Association of Anesthesiologists and Intensivists of Serbia (UAIS), the Serbian Medical Association (SLD), a member of the Presidency of the Association for Preventive Pediatrics of Serbia and the President of the Assembly of the Association of Pediatric Anesthesiologists and Intensivists of Serbia.
