Biography
Alan Šustić, MD, PhD, is a specialist in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine and also in Emergency Medicine, and he is a member of numerous European and World societies and associations in the field of emergency and intensive care medicine. He is the Head of the Department of Anesthesiology, Reanimatology, Emergency and Intensive Care Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka, Croatia, also he is a former Dean of Faculty of Medicine and former Dean of Faculty of Health Studies, University of Rijeka, Croatia. A special field of his scientific interest is the application of ultrasound in emergency and intensive care medicine. He published more than a hundred scientific papers, the total number of citations is over 2100 with an h-index of 23 (Google Scholar; March 2023).
